Ayu Abdullah
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Ayu is the Executive Director at Energy Action Partners, an international nonprofit organisation dedicated to inclusive energy planning and community-driven electrification. Deeply committed to enabling sustainable development through energy access, Ayu has spent over fifteen years working across Southeast Asia, East Africa, and the Pacific to help bring reliable electricity to rural communities. She is also the Managing Director and co-creator of COMET – the Community Energy Toolkit, a mission-driven software platform that supports participatory demand planning for off-grid systems. Through her work, Ayu has contributed to leading decentralised energy initiatives, including Malaysia’s innovative public–civic Sabah RE2 rural electrification programme. Ayu is a frequent contributor to global energy access and transition dialogues, bringing regional and community-based perspectives to platforms such as COP, SEforALL, ACEF, and IRENA events. She is a 2023 Malaysia Acumen Fellow and serves on the Board of the global Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE).
