ULU PAPAR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP: WORKSHOP 2/6

In September 2017, 11 youth from Ulu Papar participated in a three-day workshop, co-organized by Energy Action Partners and Dr. Mizanur Rahman (Universiti Malaysia Sabah). Part of a year-long program aimed at fostering community and sustainability-focused entrepreneurship, the three-day workshop further exposed participants to local social entrepreneurships and initiatives, and workshop sessions

located in Universiti Sabah Malaysia to discuss on initiatives and enterprises that they would like to pursue in their village with some additional exposure to existing social and village initiatives and enterprises. They were also introduced to their potential mentors for UMS and local social enterprises for a knowledge, advice and resources sharing session.
Throughout the workshop, participants were asked to think critically about the social challenges they faced in their respective villages that will help them in identifying initiatives and enterprises that they would like to pursue in order to solve the challenges.
The purpose of this workshop was to hold an interactive discussion and assist participants in identifying initiatives and enterprises that they would like to pursue and to further expose participants to existing social and village enterprises or initiatives. Participants were also introduced to their mentors from UMS and other social enterprises such as KupiKupi.fm and Juara Gym.
